Forecasting and its Effect on Organizational Performance

Abstract

This research work explored the impact of forecasting on organizational performance. Eastern Shop, Enugu was used as a case study. Frequencies, Percentages, Tables, and Charts were used to present obtained data while chi-square Tests of independence and association were employed in testing the statistical significance of the null hypothesis. After subjecting each hypothesis under test, findings revealed that Information is an effective tool for forecasting, forecasting determines organizational profitability, and that there exists a significant difference between forecasting and turnover in Eastern Shop Enugu. It was concluded however that organizations need to be undertaking forecasts if they are to survive the dynamic business environment.
